WHY CONNECT YOUR MAILBOX?

Rather than using a dedicated address, you link the email inbox you already use. The AI reads incoming messages there and replies from your own address, transparently for your correspondents.

ONE-CLICK CONNECTION (GOOGLE / MICROSOFT)

This is the simplest route, and the one we recommend. In 'Settings > Email', choose Google or Microsoft: you sign in on your provider's page, you grant access, and the mailbox is linked. No app password to create.

We never see your password: your provider issues us an authorisation, which you can revoke at any time from your Google or Microsoft account, or from 'Settings > Email'.

ALTERNATIVE: APP PASSWORD (IMAP/SMTP)

In 'Settings > Email', enter your address and an app password generated from your provider. Common IMAP/SMTP settings are detected automatically; you can also enter them manually (IMAP 993 SSL, SMTP 587 STARTTLS by default).

Your credentials are encrypted and never stored in plain text. A 'Test' button verifies the connection before saving.

STEPS FOR GMAIL

To connect a Gmail address, first create an 'app password' (Gmail requires this and requires two-factor authentication enabled on your Google account):

Enable two-step verification on your Google account (Google Account > Security).
Go to myaccount.google.com/apppasswords.
Create an app password (name it 'ARTEDUSA') and copy the 16-character code displayed.
In AI ARTEDUSA, 'Settings > Email', paste this code as the password, then save and test the connection.

Frequently asked questions

WHAT IS AN APP PASSWORD?

It is a specific password, distinct from your main password, that you generate from your provider's security settings (Gmail, Outlook...). It allows an application to access your mailbox without exposing your usual password, and can be revoked at any time.

ARE MY CREDENTIALS SECURE?

Yes. Your email credentials are encrypted at rest and never stored in plain text. The connection is verified before saving, and you can disconnect it at any time.
